Bank of India’s Credit Officer Drive Opens 779 Posts for Experienced Bankers Only

BOI's Credit Officer Recruitment 2026 covers 779 posts across three scales, restricted to candidates with prior banking credit experience.

Bank of India (BOI) has published its Credit Officer Recruitment 2026 notification under Project No. 2026-27/01, opening 779 posts in the General Banking Officer (GBO) Stream for experienced banking professionals.

The vacancies break down as 677 posts in MMGS-II, 61 in MMGS-III, and 41 in SMGS-IV. Of these, 475 are unfilled seats rolled over from the bank’s earlier recruitment cycle dated 1 November 2025 — making this a notably large hiring push compared to recent years.

Freshers cannot apply for this role. Candidates must hold a graduation degree with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates), or an equivalent professional qualification such as CA, CMA-ICWA, CS or CFA, along with 3 to 8 years of relevant credit, lending or risk-assessment experience at a Scheduled Commercial Bank, depending on the scale applied for.

Online applications are open from 30 June 2026 to 20 July 2026 through bankofindia.co.in. Age limits are set at 25-32 years for MMGS-II, 28-38 for MMGS-III, and 32-45 for SMGS-IV as on 1 June 2026, with relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and 1984 riot-affected candidates. The application fee is ₹850 for General/EWS/OBC and ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Selection combines an online examination and/or personal interview, with a 70:30 weightage between the two where both are conducted. The revised exam this year tests English Language (qualifying) and Professional Knowledge (merit-based) across 125 marks in 120 minutes, with a 0.25-mark deduction per wrong answer.

Selected officers earn a basic pay ranging from roughly ₹64,820 to ₹1,20,940 depending on scale, plus DA, HRA and other allowances — alongside a refundable security deposit of ₹2,00,000 for MMGS-II or ₹3,00,000 for MMGS-III/SMGS-IV, returned after three years of service.
