RBI Young Professional 2026: 12 Posts, 6 Specialisations, One Contract Track

RBI's Young Professional Recruitment 2026 filled 12 contract posts across six specialised domains, with applications closed as of 6 July 2026.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) advertised its Young Professional (YP) Recruitment 2026 for 12 posts under Advt. No. RBI/2026-27/01, with the online application window running from 15 June 2026 to 6 July 2026 through rbi.org.in.

Vacancies were divided across six specialisation domains, each carrying its own qualification requirement: Finance/Fintech (3 posts — MBA Finance, CA or CFA), Data Science/Analytics (2 posts — B.Tech/M.Tech CS/IT or M.Sc Statistics), Economics/Research (2 posts — MA/M.Sc Economics or PhD), Legal/Regulation (2 posts — LLB/LLM), Cybersecurity/IT (2 posts — B.Tech/M.Tech CS/IT/Cybersecurity), and Communications/Media (1 post — MBA Marketing or Mass Communication).

The age bracket for eligibility was 25 to 35 years as on the notified cut-off date, with relaxation of 3 years for OBC non-creamy layer, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Application fees applied to General/OBC/EWS candidates, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates were fully exempt.

Selection proceeds through four stages — application screening based on eligibility and domain fit, a domain-specific written test or online assessment, a personal interview with an RBI panel, and document verification with a medical fitness check — with the final merit list based on combined performance across stages.

Those selected join on a one-year contract, extendable subject to performance, with a consolidated monthly stipend, HRA or accommodation assistance depending on the posting location, access to RBI’s research databases and training resources, direct interaction with senior economists and regulators, and a formal service certificate upon completion.

RBI has tentatively pencilled in the written test and interview for August 2026, results for September 2026, and onboarding for October 2026, while noting the schedule may be revised — candidates are advised to track updates directly on rbi.org.in.
